This started to happen often, and after a little trust was built I started to like Samuel – I found myself at his lavish apartment, which was kitted out the same as his office. Our dinners may have once been some deal to let my sister have time off work, but now I enjoyed them; I found myself coming over before he’d even finished work and I had my own key. Months went by and even though he’d not dragged me to bed yet, I think we both knew where we stood with one another… the whole office knew after he practically shoved his tongue down my throat, and I could hear everyone’s hearts drop.
“Sam!” I yelled at him from the bedroom.
I’d spent the night and refused to move all day since he had me on the whiskey. It was getting dark out once more and, seeing as I still didn’t have a job, I found myself just stopping over time and time again. I think it’d been a week since I’d been home – I just went with him to the office and hung around Lisa, sometimes went out into the city, but then I’d be back here whenever I’d finished.
He was fresh out the shower; the man had no social skills seeing as he found it appropriate to walk around half naked with a guest in his house – then again I guess I was a special guest. He did have the body for it, though, water still dripping off his abs. I was lucky if I saw any muscle when I tensed.
“Do we have any waffles left?” I’d gotten used to asking him if we had the food in because he’d usually offer to cook it for me that way. For a man that had most of his food prepared by chefs, he could certainly cook a meal himself.
Suddenly I froze mid-sentence. I said ‘we’ instead of ‘he’, and judging by the smile running across his face he’d noticed it, too. As he walked over to me, I buried my head back into the pillow and wrapped the sheets around myself tight. I felt so embarrassed by it all. I’d never really done this, been with anyone the way I was with him, and I didn’t really know what the term was for what we were.
I didn’t have a clue – but I liked it.
“You seem quite comfortable here. So is this ‘our’ place now, Max?” He said it in a playful manner as he jumped onto the bed and pulled me out of the covers.
Pinning me down, he lost control of the towel that covered his lower half and let it slide away from the sheets and drop to the floor. His blue eyes pierced my own and his smile gleamed as he stared down at me.
I guess he had gotten what he wanted yet again – just like he always did. A part of me might have been holding off because I was
